Encore Garden Theme Park
One of the most popular and well known abandoned place in Taiwan has to the “Encore Garden” theme park. Of course it was also on our wish list for our trip around the island. We had heard about security on scooters and people getting caught so we arrived at the park well before the sun woke up. Defacto State Abkhazia
From May 14th till May 18th my travel partner and I spent a few days in the defacto state Abkhazia. Officialy this region is part of Georgia but they seperated themselves from it a few years ago and with Russian support they see themselves as a sovereign state. With only a handfull of countries supporting and recognising them, it is still a defacto state. The Netherlands is not one of the countries supporting them and so visiting this place was bit sketchy…with no embassy, no normal travel insurance and no authorities being able to help when in trouble we went in anyway. Western Village
Last location of the day. Funny thing: we had passed this theme park in the morning already without realising it. We did see Mount Rushmore and said to eachother ‘Let’s check that place out when we come back later today’. Indeed we were going to check it out. This theme park is built in a Wild West USA style. Strange Love Hotel
The Strange Love Hotel, also known as the Fuurin Motel, is situated in a small town in the Chiba prefecture. It only had 10 rooms but each with a different theme such as ‘Medieval’ or ‘Typical Japanese’. Many rooms had their own spa’s (onsen-as they are called in Japan) and privat gardens. Getting into the place was our first struggle. It seemed pretty boarded up with barbwire all around the building also. The trees were a bit dangerous also. They had spikes all over their stems. Luckily I saw it in time before either of us held onto one to climb down a small slope to get to the building.…

Cazinoul din Constanța
When we were planning our roadtrip through Bulgaria, we decided that we also wanted to skip the border and drive to the city of Constanta to visit the Art Nouveau Casino along the Black Sea coast. And so it was done… Early in the morning we left Varna and headed to the border. After little less than 3 hours later we arrived in Constanta. We were early and had to wait a little for the representative to arrive and tell the security to open the door for us. When we finally walked in I had goosebumps…what a magnificant building!
